Chef Ryan Poli, formerly of
Perennial, has just opened his Spanishinspired small plates restaurant
Tavernita in River North at 151 West Erie Street. The venue
includes Barcito, a stand-and-eat pintxo bar similar to those
found throughout San Sebastián, Spain. Pintxo bars are designed
for casual interaction and toasting over shared plates in a festive
environment.
On February 14, Anthropologie
will open BHLDN (inspired by the Dutch word for “to keep”) in the
Gold Coast at 8 East Walton. The shop will specialize in unique
and contemporary bridal wear, gifts and accessories, with designs
familiar to Anthropologie shoppers.

Acadia
has just opened in the South Loop at 1639 South Wabash, with a la carte and tasting
menus featuring classic American cuisine. The restaurant pays homage to former
Tizi Melloul chef Ryan McCaskey’s childhood summers spent in the Acadian region
of Maine. Guests may enjoy views of the skyline from the sleek dining room, relax
in the restaurant’s lounge, or gather with family, friends and clients in the
restaurant’s private dining space.
Just in time for winter, Patagonia
has opened a new shop in the Gold Coast, at 48 East Walton. Whether gearing up
for an Alpine climb, ski slopes or an urban hike, Patagonia is the new local outfitter
for your next great outdoor adventure.
Former Les Nomades Chef Chris Nugent has
opened his contemporary American restaurant, Goosefoot, in the Lincoln
Square neighborhood at 2656 West Lawrence Ave. The focus is on seasonal ingredients
sourced from local farms, and modern cuisine crafted through classic French techniques.
Goosefoot is currently BYOB, and offers eight- and twelve-course tasting menus.

Just in time for holiday shopping, Kiehl’s
and Wolford have both opened at The Shops at North Bridge on the Magnificent Mile.
Kiehl’s, originally founded in 1851 as an old-world apothecary in New York City,
offers skin and hair care products with formulas derived from unique natural ingredients.
Wolford specializes in high-quality, comfortable stockings and tights, including
men’s socks, perfect for the winter wardrobe!
Fans
of Takashi in Bucktown now have a more casual venue for sampling chef Takashi
Yagihashi’s cuisine. Slurping Turtle has opened in River North at 116 W. Hubbard
St. with a menu that features Japanese comfort food, including noodle dishes,
sashimi, grilled items and dumplings.
Chef Christian Fantoni recently opened Filini
Bar & Restaurant inside the new Radisson Blu Hotel at the award-winning Aqua Tower
in the Lakeshore East neighborhood. The two-story, 150-seat restaurant and bar
is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering contemporary Italian cuisine
in a chic and elegant environment.
